Shooting Forms
First things first, I am back and thanks to the mad genius engineer RV, we recieved quite the face lift. With that stated, I would like to duscuss some of the basics and by basics I mean fundamental shooting forms.
Most important and most often neglected by beginning shooters is the technique of their stance. Please note, the more experienced the shooter, fundemental essentials take presidence over particular stance and intrisically the stance becomes irrelavant, because an experienced shooter can shoot from any stance and position.
Primarily, the stance of the beginning shooter should be with the dominant foot back as a back stop or brace. At shoulders distance apart the majority of the shooters weight should be resting on the non-dominant foot. Now as far as your upper body, it should be square with the target. Now some may say that they like to keep their upper body at an angle with their non-dominant side forward and their dominant side backwards. Now, depending on your situation, comfort level, and training you might use one or the other.
Most importantly, shooters shoot square to the target due to the fact that some kevlar vests have minimal protection on the side so in a combat situation it would behoove the shooter to shoot square for maximum protection.
As aformentioned, the stance of choice for the shooter comes down to comfort, ability, and effectivness. Choice wisely…
